Variety recently reported that multiple sources have confirmed with the publication that American actor, Mark Ruffalo is appearing in the upcoming 2025 MCU film, Captain America: Brave New World.

The publication claims that the actor “misspoke” about Hulk’s return in the upcoming Captain America film during a Q&A session at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday.

Acknowledging the moderator’s question, the recent Oscar nominee seemingly confirmed that he will be reprising his role as the Marvel superhero in Captain America: Brave New World which is slated to release on February 14, 2025.

On Sunday, the longtime Hulk actor confirmed that he will finally return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Bruce Banner in the upcoming Marvel film. “It’s going to be great!” the actor commented on his next big-screen adventure as part of a discussion during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Now, Ruffalo’s appearance in Captain America: Brave New World has the Internet confused.

Meanwhile, Ruffalo has taken a little break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. The actor appeared in Marvel series like She-Hulk and What If…? His last Marvel role in the film was back in 2019 with Avengers: Endgame, outside of a brief cameo in 2021 film Shang-Chi.

Captain America: Brave New World is the last film of Phase Five of the MCU. The fourth mainline Captain America film stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka Captain America and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross. The fictional character was played by William Hurt, however, that changed to Harrison Ford following his passing in 2022.
