The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen has pulled back the curtain on the true reason behind Sukuna’s intense animosity towards Yuji. While fans have long known about Sukuna’s disdain for the protagonist, the narrative has taken an unexpected turn, exposing a petty and unexpected source of hatred.

The saga kicks off with Yuji Itadori unwittingly becoming Sukuna’s vessel by swallowing the feared special-grade cursed object – one of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers. Normally, such an act would spell immediate death, but Yuji defies the odds by incarnating the curse and suppressing the King of Curses within him.

The recent chapter, Jujutsu Kaisen ‘Chapter 248’, lifts the veil on Sukuna’s longstanding hatred for Yuji. Contrary to the assumption that Sukuna despises Yuji due to being trapped in the vessel, it appears the source of Sukuna’s resentment is far more trivial.

Sukuna’s disdain for Yuji is rooted in the latter’s relentless resilience and unwavering strength. Despite being constantly belittled and referred to as a mere “brat,” Yuji consistently rises to the challenge. ‘Chapter 248’ unveils Sukuna’s realization of Yuji’s rapid progress, particularly in mastering the intricate Reverse Cursed Technique within a remarkably short period.

As the brat stands up against the King of Curses, Sukuna grapples with his own internal conflict, unable to fathom why he is so perturbed. It becomes clear that Sukuna cannot accept being challenged by someone seemingly weaker, solely relying on sheer willpower. The chapter discloses Sukuna’s deeper desire – not just to eliminate Yuji physically but to shatter his ideals. While the outcome remains uncertain, one undeniable truth emerges – Sukuna has always recognized Yuji’s strength.
