The grand inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is set to take place today, with the ‘pran pratistha’ (consecration ceremony) of Ram Lalla scheduled to be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Approximately 7,000 distinguished guests have been invited, including politicians, sportspersons, film stars, and industrialists.

Political heavyweights on the guest list include former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, along with BJP veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Former Presidents Ram Nath Kovind and Pratibha Patil, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and Ranjan Bhattacharya, son-in-law of the late BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee, are also expected to grace the occasion.

The guest list further extends to include individuals from diverse fields. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and several sitting and former judges, including Ranjan Gogoi, are invited to the consecration ceremony. Notably, ISRO chairperson S Somanath, former ISRO chairperson K Sivan, and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi are also among the honoured guests.

Sports enthusiasts will witness the presence of cricket legends such as Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli, alongside icons from various disciplines, including shuttlers Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, and footballer Bhaichung Bhutia.

The glitz and glamour of Bollywood will add a touch of stardom to the event, with actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt gracing the guest list. Others also include Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Kangana Ranaut, Madhuri Dixit, Hema Malini and Sunny Deol.

From the South, Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, and Junior NTR have also been invited. Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, who portrayed Ram and Sita in the TV show, have also been invited.

Renowned directors and singers, including Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Bhansali, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam, and Anup Jalota, are also set to join the celebrations.

The industrialist brigade is well-represented, with business magnates like Mukesh Ambani, Ratan N Tata, Anil Agarwal, and Gautam Adani securing their spots among the distinguished guests. Azim Premji, Nusli Wadia, Sudhir Mehta, GMR Group’s G M R Rao, and Niranjan Hiranandani are more business moguls who have been invited.

This monumental occasion, marked by a diverse array of attendees, reflects the unity in diversity as India gathers to witness the historic inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
