Duluth, Minnesota landlord Travis Carlson, 37, was arrested and charged with first-degree arson for setting his house constructing on fireplace. As he torched the place, he was apparently blaring Billy Joel’s “We Did not Begin the Fireplace” on his stereo. It is an odd track selection as a result of, effectively, he did begin the fireplace.

The downstairs tenant says they woke as much as their landlord, recognized as Carlson, “smashing glass and breaking issues” for about 20 minutes, in response to the grievance. Carlson then knocked on the downstairs tenant’s house, telling the tenant that “the home is on fireplace.”
A neighbor additionally advised officers that they noticed Carlson below his truck with gasoline cans, going out and in of the home. An investigation revealed a drilled gap in his truck’s gasoline tank with lids to gasoline cans laying across the truck.
