Jonathan Majors’s Hollywood career took a huge blow after the actor was found guilty of assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the American actors’ disturbed bodybuilder film Magazine Dreams, which took Sundance by storm has been released back to its filmmakers by Searchlight Pictures.

Starring Jonathan Majors as amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, the film Magazine Dreams premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and received positive reviews.

Now, the 34-year-old actor’s movie is facing a release turmoil after the Walt Disney Studios specialty arm, Searchlight Pictures has quietly sold its rights back to the filmmakers. This means, that Magazine Dreams can see the light of day only after some other studios buy it.

This move comes after Jonathan Majors was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari who the actor met on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Soon after the court’s verdict in December 2023, Marvel and Disney cut ties with the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe actor. Majors played the MCU villain Kang the Conqueror.

Jonatha Majors was much praised for his performance of Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantunmania as well as Loki, with Marvel setting him up as a central villain in Phase 5 of the MCU. The actor was also reportedly dropped from the Dennis Rodman film 48 Hours in Vegas.

Magazine Dreams was directed by Elijah Bynum and also starred Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O’Hearn, Harrison Page, and Harriet Sansom Harris.

Jonathan Majors is now awaiting sentencing on February 6, 2024.
