Keanu Reeves’s iconic hitman is making a comeback, but this time in the world of anime.
In an interview on The Discourse podcast, director Chad Stahelski recently revealed that the beloved thriller franchise is getting an anime series developed. John Wick is expanding its horizons with an exciting new anime project in collaboration with talents from Japan.
The American stuntman and film director during an episode of the podcast expressed his enthusiasm for the new project. Highlighting his love for Japanese anime Chad Stahelski said, “We’re really looking forward to that.”
Expressing his fondness for the unique storytelling opportunities, he added, “We’re really excited about it because we’re doing a Japanese anime.” He continued, “I love Japanese anime so much.”
Chad Stahelski said it would be great to create all the “cool stories” that anime can achieve better than they can. He also revealed that a new TV show is in the works to expand the ‘John Wick’ world. “We’ll still get our fix,” he said, “And we’ll still have all the fun.”
John Wick is adding to the growing popularity of anime adaptations but the internet is divided. Several fans of Keanu Reeves hitman are very happy and excited about the anime but some have also expressed their concerns.

This isn’t the first time the John Wick film franchise has ventured into television. The makers released The Continental: From the World of John Wick series in September, but the series failed to impress the fans.
