However, the fate of Deadpool 3, with its R-rated edge and immense popularity, has been a subject of both curiosity and concern. The latest setback revolves around the ongoing actors’ strike, which has already concluded for the Writers Guild of America (WGA) but continues for members of SAG-AFTRA, who are advocating for fair compensation in the streaming era.
The movie’s scheduled release date is May 3, 2024, but director Shawn Levy expressed uncertainty about whether they can meet that target. He mentioned that the strike and the production halt have put the release date “in true risk.” Although they have already filmed half of the movie and made progress in editing, they are eager to resume production and meet the original release schedule.
