Apple is advising customers who have forgotten their passcodes to bring their headsets back to the store for assistance. Additionally, the support team is addressing concerns related to Optic ID, a feature that utilizes retina scanning for device authentication.

As per Bloomberg’s report, individuals sharing their experiences on Apple’s community forums have expressed that the representatives were taken by surprise regarding the issue and expressed regret for not being adequately prepared.

The headset lacks a USB Type-C port, thereby preventing its connection to a Mac or PC for troubleshooting purposes. The sole solution entails purchasing a dedicated strap accessory priced at $300, primarily designed for developers to facilitate app testing on the headset.

Apple Support is reportedly addressing disgruntled customers who have been informed that their only option is to return to the store.

The headset, which was released in February, has garnered predominantly favorable feedback. Although Apple does not anticipate the headset to become a massive success due to its high price, early adopters appear to be highly satisfied with the product.

According to sources cited by 9to5Mac, Apple is planning to acquire Brighter AI, a German AI startup that specializes in anonymizing face and license plate data. This strategic move is intended to bolster the privacy capabilities of Apple’s mixed reality (MR) headset, Vision Pro.

Reports suggest that Apple is currently evaluating Brighter AI’s technology as a potential solution to minimize the risk of Apple Vision Pro capturing identifiable information in public images or videos. It is worth noting that such concerns are usually not a cause for worry when using an iPhone to capture footage. However, the discreet video shooting capability of Apple Vision Pro compared to other smartphones may raise some concerns.

Furthermore, this technology could also be advantageous for future devices that aim to make photo and video capture more inconspicuous. As stated in the report, when utilizing Vision Pro for media capture, a subtle visual indication appears on the front panel.
