Dubai International Airport (DXB) has soared to the top, claiming the title of the world’s busiest airport for the month of January 2024. According to a study conducted by aviation consultancy OAG, DXB’s international capacity outshone the second-ranking airport, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), by an impressive 25%, with 4.7 million seats.

This marks a significant ascent for DXB, as it was ranked as the second busiest global airport in January 2023. The recent triumph follows a trend of remarkable growth for the airport, with OAG ranking DXB as the busiest international airport in 2023, boasting an impressive 56.5 million seats.

The Top 10 list of the busiest global airports by seats for January 2024 showcases Dubai’s aviation dominance. Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport trails DXB with 4,723,550 seats, while Tokyo International Airport secures the third spot with 4,585,857 seats. Other notable airports on the list include Guangzhou International Airport, London Heathrow Airport, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
