Apple intends to halt the production of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro featuring mini-LED backlighting by 2024. This implies that the tablet will not be available in the market at a discounted price after the launch of the speculated 13-inch iPad Pro with an OLED display in the upcoming year.

According to a recent report by Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, the anticipated decline in shipment volume for Mini LED notebooks is estimated to be around 39% YoY.
In contrast, the Mini LED tablets, specifically the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, are projected to be discontinued in 2024, resulting in an expected decrease of approximately 15.6% YoY. These two applications are the sole ones anticipated to experience a decline.
Next year, it is anticipated that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be replaced by a marginally larger 13-inch model featuring an OLED display, as initially disclosed by the reputable display industry analyst Ross Young in December 2022.
Additionally, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts the introduction of new iPad Pro models, measuring 11 inches and 13 inches, equipped with OLED displays, an M3 chip, and an aluminum Magic Keyboard.

According to a post on Naver, a Korean social media platform, Apple plans to integrate OLED displays into the iPad mini and iPad Air. The report indicates that LG Display and Samsung may provide the OLED panels for the iPad Pro. Additionally, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini LED backlight will eventually be substituted with OLED technology.
Industry experts, such as Mark Gurman, have previously made comparable assertions about the forthcoming iPad Pro model set to be released in 2024, although these claims have not been officially confirmed.
There is speculation that Apple might progressively incorporate OLED technology into the iPad Air and iPad mini, both of which are more affordable than the iPad Pro and serve as a compromise between the 10th generation iPad and the iPad Pro lineup.
Following the integration of the OLED panel into the iPad Pro in 2024, Apple is anticipated to assess its performance and subsequently modify the launch schedule for the OLED-equipped iPad Air and iPad mini.
