A few weeks ago, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were introduced, showcasing the Action Button as a replacement for the mute switch. This feature is capable of executing various functions. According to MacRumors, it is anticipated that the upcoming iPhone 16 series will incorporate an additional capacitive button, internally referred to as the “Capture Button.”

This button, codenamed “Project Nova,” is expected to be a prominent feature of the iPhone 16 lineup, provided it successfully passes the initial testing phase.
The Capture Button will be situated on the same side as the Power button, albeit slightly lower, where the mmWave cutout is located on more recent iPhone models. The mmWave cutout has been relocated to the opposite side, positioned beneath the volume buttons. The purpose of the new capacitive button remains unknown at present.
According to sources, the Capture Button will possess force sensor capabilities. Furthermore, in contrast to the Action Button, exclusively available on the iPhone 15 Pro series, the Capture Button will be incorporated across the entire iPhone 16 series, encompassing the vanilla and Plus models as well.
It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 will feature a modified camera bump, incorporating a vertical camera configuration akin to that of the iPhone 12. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are slated to boast screens measuring 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch, respectively, representing a 0.2-inch increase in size from their forerunners.
