Paramount Pictures has unveiled the trailer for the highly anticipated installment in the post-apocalyptic horror franchise, “A Quiet Place: Day One.” This latest film delves into the genesis of the invasion, showcasing the harrowing events of the first day when deadly extraterrestrial creatures with hyper-sonic hearing descend upon Earth.

While the original film and its sequel were spearheaded by John Krasinski, known for his roles in “The Office” and “Jack Ryan,” the directorial reins for the upcoming third installment have been passed to Michael Sarnoski. The narrative shift in “Day One” brings fresh perspectives as it introduces new characters grappling with survival amidst the early stages of the invasion, set against the backdrop of New York City.

The Abbott family, portrayed by Krasinski and his real-life spouse Emily Blunt as Lee and Evelyn, took center stage in the preceding films, striving to safeguard their children, Regan and Marcus, portrayed by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe respectively. However, “Day One” offers a glimpse into a different facet of the catastrophe, with newcomers Lupita Nyong’o, Alex Wolff, and Joseph Quinn joining the ensemble cast, alongside the return of Djimon Hounsou from “A Quiet Place Part II.”

Produced by Paramount Pictures, Platinum Dunes, and Sunday Night Productions, the film maintains continuity with Krasinski’s involvement as a producer, alongside industry stalwarts Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.

“A Quiet Place: Day One” is set to hit theaters on June 28, promising audiences a riveting exploration of the origins of terror in a world where silence is survival.
